Depart this afternoon from Toronto on the overnight flight to Italy.
Arrive in Florence airport to begin a week of immersion in Tuscany. Drive south into the Tuscan hills and stroll in the walled village of Monteriggioni for a first taste of the Tuscan hill towns we will discover during our week in Tuscany. Arrive at our hotel in Quercegrossa in the afternoon.
Stroll in San Gimignano - the town of the hundred towers - admiring the medieval feel of the hill town. Taste Vernaccia at the Teruzzi and Puthod cellars. Enjoy a guided walk in Siena - its warm red brick and its splendid architecture contribute to making this one of the most beautiful towns of Italy. Free time in the afternoon to stroll, shop and bask in the medieval atmosphere of the town.
Explore the 'Square of Miracles' in Pisa - a magnificent Romanesque ensemble of cathedral, monumental burial ground, campanile ('Leaning Tower') and baptistry, all of gleaming white marble. Visit the walled city of Lucca with exceptional, secret attractions including San Michele, the Roman Amphitheatre, the Cathedral and the perfectly preserved ramparts.
Into the kitchens this morning to prepare a full Tuscan meal with antipasto, pasta, main courses, vegetables and dessert. The morning starts with a visit of the market with our chefs - two dynamic ladies who will reveal their family cooking secrets. Lunch follows. Motor through the Chianti hills in the afternoon and visit the market town of Greve.
Admire the magnificent panorama along the 'Crete Senese'; an evocative landscape of barren hills dotted with olive groves, vineyards and stone walls. Stop to taste 'Pecorino' cheese where it's made in the delightful Renaissance town of Pienza. Visit the walled town of Montalcino and taste the famed Brunello di Montalcino at the renowned Fattoria dei Barbi cellars.

One of the most beautiful cities in the world, Florence beckons with the charm and grace of the Renaissance. Explore with our guide on foot taking in the principal monuments of the city. The afternoon is free to visit one of the city's famous galleries or to enjoy strolling in the open-air markets or enchanting streets.
Enjoy the entire day at leisure. shop, stroll, relax in a café. We can also prebook your tickets to the Uffizi or Accademia Galleries.
Transfer to Florence airport for your flight home or extend your stay in Florence, Rome or Venice.
